about

Jim Nelson gave me a copy of a green-label Columbia 78 of the Flanagan Bros. (Columbia 33126-F, NYC, 1926). It consisted of a skit about trying to scare a banshee. Various tunes and instruments (accordion, banjo, jews harp, etc.) are tired. Finally, at the end, this tune, played all, did the trick, as confirmed by tge comment, "Ah, that's the tune to chase the banshee!" That statement yielded a name for this tune, as I didn't know one.
Fred: second fiddle
Jim: guitar
Jeff: banjo
